Bill the Goat at Trader Joe’s Annapolis on Jennifer Road — named (almost certainly) for ‘Bill the Goat,’ the official mascot of the United States Naval Academy just down the road. The Navy goat tradition dates back to 1893, when sailors brought a live goat from the USS New York to the Army-Navy football game and Navy won; the goat became the academy’s mascot, and every Navy mascot since (currently around Bill XXXVII) has carried the name.
