TJ Mascots

Chewy presides over Trader Joe’s Greenwood Village in suburban Denver. Best identified as a Sasquatch — a shaggy gray-brown bipedal cryptid with tan hairless feet, sporting big black aviator sunglasses, a Hawaiian floral shirt, a TJ red lei, and a bandolier strap across the chest. The bandolier plus the name ‘Chewy’ make it a near-certain homage to Chewbacca the Wookiee from Star Wars. His TJ name badge clearly reads ‘CHEWY — Crew Member.’
